Ryan Bornstein is a member of the law firm of Harvey Ballard & Bornstein, LLC and concentrates on estate and income tax planning and preparation, estate administration, estate litigation, and tax controversy. Mr. Bornstein’s client-base is comprised of business owners, executives, and other high net worth individuals.

 

Mr. Bornstein is a Professor of Law with the Adjunct Faculty of the Graduate Tax Program at the Villanova University School of Law, a Professor in the Accounting Program at the Villanova University School of Business and a Professor in the Paralegal Program at the Villanova University Continuing Studies Department. Mr. Bornstein has taught Introduction of Taxation, Legal Orientation, and Taxation of Property Dispositions in the Graduate Tax Program. Currently, Mr. Bornstein teaches Tax II in the Graduate Tax Program as well as Federal Income Tax and Advanced Taxes in the Villanova University School of Business, and Trusts and Estates in the Paralegal Program. Recently, Mr. Bornstein created the Tax II course for the on-line Villanova Graduate Tax Program.

 

Mr. Bornstein has written a number of timely tax articles, including: “ERISA Disclosure Requirements: Electronic Notices,” “Corporate Protection: The Availability and Use of Indemnification for Corporate Defendants,” and “Impact of Qualified Retirement Assets on a Decedent’s Estate: Saving for the Future.” Furthermore, he has explored taxation and the internet by writing two chapters for the book, “Electronic Commerce Impact on Taxation and the Law: A Practitioner’s Guide,” that focus on sales taxation and jurisdictional issues. With an eye towards income tax planning, Mr. Bornstein also published “A Twist in Planning with Capital Losses” for the May 2010 issue of Accounting & Taxation.

 

Mr. Bornstein has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware and his Juris Doctorate and Masters of Laws from the Villanova University School of Law. Mr. Bornstein is admitted to the United States Tax Court and practices before the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Bornstein is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
